Abstract
Chemical Janbazan, who were disabled due to the Chemical warfare at the Holy Defense, are more distinguished than others in the eight-year Holy Defense. The history of the use of weapons of mass destruction, and most importantly chemical weapons, in World Wars I and II, as well as their widespread and frequent use in the imposed war of Iraq against Iran (the Holy Defense), necessitate the awareness of people of its significance. This research is an attempt to clarify the role of literature, especially the poems, of the Holy Defense relating to chemical Janbazan in developing public awareness. This is a descriptive-analytical research whose data is collected through note taking and library method. Investigating the problems of chemical warfare victims and their families has been deeply considered by young poets addressing the issue profoundly and poetically. The features of these Janbazan and some of their obvious problems have not been overlooked by these poets.
