The purposeful sampling method and the method of access was snowball, and 19 second wives were interviewed in a semi-structured manner. Finally, data coding was done by Gibson and Brown method. Data analysis led to 16 primary codes, 4 sub-themes and finally the discovery of the overarching theme of deterministic patriarchal system and women's motivations. According to the findings of the research, in addition to the patriarchal structure ruling the studied society, which casts a shadow on women's lives and has dominated them, the existence of a series of internal motivations in women also leads them to become second wives of married men. | ||
